Ubico releases annual report for 2024/25

We are proud and delighted to present the Ubico Annual Report for 2024/25, reflecting another year of significant progress and innovation. The report showcases how we have continued to deliver high-quality environmental services for communities across Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire whilst driving forward our strategic priorities.

The year saw the successful mobilisation of waste, recycling, and street cleansing services for Forest of Dean District Council in August 2024, marking a major milestone in our growth. As a result, annual collections rose to over 32 million, a 12% increase on the previous year.

We continued to progress our sustainability journey, and by the end of March 2025,over 20% of our fleet was running on HVO fuel (a number which has since risen to 46%) , and electric or hybrid vehicles accounted for 6% of our fleet, saving more than 1,000 tonnes of CO₂e We also achieved recertification to the ISO 14001 in Environmental Management, reinforcing our commitment to environmental responsibility.

Our people continue to be our greatest asset. With a workforce of around 1,000 employees, we invested heavily in training and development, delivering over 400 training sessions and filling 35% of vacancies internally. Governance and accountability were strengthened through new board appointments and we achieved a ‘Green’ rating in our Healthy Organisation review. Health and safety also remained a top priority, with the ISO 45001 standard in health and safety management retained and a notable increase in safety concern reporting, reflecting our proactive safety culture.
