We are proud and delighted to present the Ubico Annual Report for 2023/24, celebrating another exceptionally successful year.
2023/24 marked a year of continued growth and innovation for Ubico. Key highlights include our preparations for the new waste, recycling, and street cleansing services for Forest of Dean District Council, which commenced in August 2024. Alongside this, we continued to explore new opportunities for growth, including cross-boundary collaborations and partner initiatives. We also advanced our digital transformation efforts, notably with the completion of implementation of in-cab software across our fleet.
In recent years we have made great strides to reduce our carbon impact, particularly within fleet, with the introduction of alternative fuels into our fleet. We continued our carbon journey, developing a carbon usage dashboard to monitor our environmental impact and identify areas for improvement, which will inform our carbon strategy going forward.
At Ubico, we believe our people are our greatest asset. Throughout the year, we emphasised employee attraction, retention, and upskilling. New training programmes and career progression opportunities were introduced to support the development of our team, alongside initiatives to boost staff engagement.
Health and safety have always been our top priority, and 2023/24 was no exception. We introduced several new initiatives aimed at improving health, safety, and compliance, most notably a highly effective campaign to significantly reduce vehicle accidents.
Highlights from 2023/24 include:
- We made 30,035,048 property visits
- A collection accuracy of 99.93%
- 101,067 tonnes of refuse collected
- 21,945 tonnes of food waste collected
- 45,856 tonnes of garden waste collected
- 55,621 tonnes of dry recycling collected
- 1,515 street cleansing requests responded to
