Work Life Balance

We know there is more to life than work and we want to foster a culture where our people feel they have that work-life balance. Where we can, we offer agile working allowing you to make the best use of your time and your skills.

For our frontline roles, where agile working is not possible, a full time week is a fixed 37 hour week, and we are happy to consider applicants who wish to work fewer days each week.

Our annual leave policy gives you 26 days paid annual leave (pro rata if you are working part time) plus bank holidays. We reward long term service with an increase in holiday to 30 days once you have been with us for five years. We also provide you with the opportunity to buy and sell holiday.

Looking the part

It's important that we keep our people safe and we support this by providing all the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniform needed to do the job safely. So there is no need for you to pay for your uniform, this ones on us!

Health and Wellbeing

Your physical and mental health are important to us and we are committed to helping you maintain your wellbeing.

All of our employees and their families have access to our Employee Assistance Programme. This is a completely free and confidential service which can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Through this service you can access counselling sessions to support you with your mental health, as well as support and advice on an extensive range of issues including money, work, personal life, family and addiction. This service is completely confidential and no information will be shared with us or our HR team. Our Unity Rewards app has a wellbeing area where employees can access the employee assistance programme online health portal and wellbeing tips.

Employees are also entitled to free eye tests if they are a regular user of display screen equipment (such as laptops) and a contribution towards glasses should they need them for computer use. We also offer a free annual flu vaccination.

When someone goes that extra mile, we notice. Anyone can get nominated for our employee recognition awards, awarded under any of our five values, and each month we pick a winner. Every person who has been nominated also gets entered into our annual employee recognition awards.

Financial Security

We don't want you to live to work but we know it's important to plan for your future. We contribute 4% to your pension and you have the opportunity to contribute 4% or higher if you wish.

Although it's not something any of us like to think about, we also offer death in service insurance - should you pass away, one year of your annual salary will be provided to a person of your choosing.
